Professor Trudie Lang, University of Oxford, UK (UK Lead)
With 25 years’ experience in capacity development and designing studies in low-resource settings I aim to advise on methods, impact and management, and support Aliya’s leadership. I set-up The Global Health Network 12 years ago in Kenya to share know-how between disease areas, roles and organisations. We are pivoting leadership to the global south and icddr,b are one of the three funded regional coordination centres, along with Fiocruz in Brazil and Africa CDC. This Centre will be firmly strengthened and can leverage from this equitable, sustainable global alliance. My role is of stewardship to facilitate this shift to lasting independence.
