New programmes implemented for mitigating NCD risk factors in adolescents/young people
Detection (Led by PAHS)
Aims
Strengthen primary health care for promoting universal health coverage for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental health
Methods
Assess the burden of NCDs, existing health services, facilities and barriers to access health care
Design a comprehensive NCD care model and evaluate locally-appropriate solutions
Determine and develop a pathway to scale for successful NCD care
Outcomes
Set pathway for policy uptake of the best care models
Reducing mortality (Led by BSMMU)
Aims
Improve referral for treatment and intervention in severe disease
Implement surveillance and data systems for continued learning
Methods
Routine synthesis of health data at country level to produce time sensitive evidence for supporting health decision-making
Establish algorithm-based disease focused case management, lifestyle modifications and proper referral linkage for control of disease severity in NCDs
Develop a generic protocol for extracting local level data from both countries using an online data entry system
Outcomes
Health economic, health system, policy and treatment seeking behaviour data
Referral systems in place and operational across both countries
