November 4 – 6, 2022

The 21st annual Shaukat Khanum Cancer Symposium (SKCS) is being held in Lahore, Pakistan, from the 4th to the 6th of November 2022. The meeting has been organized as a hybrid event, with options to attend in person, or virtually.

This meeting will provide a platform for all who attend, including leading researchers, scientists, clinicians and trainees from across the world, to exchange latest knowledge and expertise related to cancer diagnosis, treatment and research.

As part of this meeting, we are also conducting a session that bring together experts in the field to discuss to how to enhance integrity, through capacity building initiatives for research, especially in LMICs like Pakistan. This dialogue aims to highlight that though low and middle-income countries (LMICs) bear a high burden of disease and suffer from persistent chronic disease disparities such as higher cancer deaths, their capacity for health research remains low. Investing in research capacity strengthening in LMICs is hence critical to effectively understanding and combating health problems and advancing health equity. Research integrity is also a capacity that can be enhanced and conversations around this provide an opportunity for the research culture to grow.
