In line with this vision, The Global Health Network (TGHN) is partnering with research institutes, researchers, healthcare professionals and groups in Pakistan to establish The Global Health Network Pakistan to collaboratively work towards enabling research in every healthcare setting by sharing knowledge and methods.

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centres
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centres are state-of-the-art non-profit cancer treatment and research centres located in Pakistan and the only dedicated cancer treatment network in the country. Research is part of the hospital’s mission statement, and the hospital provides dedicated resources and infrastructure for basic, epidemiological and clinical research into the causes and treatment of cancer, since its inception in 1994, leading to high output in the field of health research within Pakistan.
Global Institute of Human Development, Islamabad
The Global Institute of Human Development (GIHD) is a not-for-profit mental health and public health research institute based in Islamabad. GIHD brings together research, education, policy engagement and community-based services, with a particular focus on strengthening mental health systems and improving the wellbeing of children, young people, families and communities. Through The Global Health Network Pakistan, GIHD contributes expertise in mental health research, capacity strengthening and translating evidence into policy and practice.
Ziauddin University, Karachi
Ziauddin University is a multidisciplinary university with a strong health sciences and clinical research portfolio. Its Clinical Trials Unit conducts Phase II, III and IV clinical trials and is supporting the development of high-quality, participant-centred trials in Pakistan. The University is also leading important work in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE), including establishing Pakistan’s first PPIE group for clinical trials, and contributes to clinical trials methodology research and capacity strengthening. Through The Global Health Network Pakistan, Ziauddin University supports collaboration and knowledge exchange around more inclusive, relevant and rigorous clinical research.
Aga Khan University, Karachi
Aga Khan University (AKU) is a leading health sciences and research institution in Pakistan with extensive expertise in clinical and translational research. Its Clinical Trials Unit, established in 2011, provides comprehensive support across the clinical trial lifecycle, including protocol development, trial management, regulatory processes, data and safety monitoring and research capacity development. In late 2025, the Unit was designated a WHO Collaborating Centre for Clinical Trials. Through The Global Health Network Pakistan, AKU contributes its expertise in clinical trials, research quality and strengthening clinical research capacity nationally and across the region.
Forman Christian College, Lahore
Forman Christian College (FCCU) is a multidisciplinary university in Lahore with a longstanding commitment to education, research and academic development. Its broad expertise across the sciences, social sciences and other disciplines provides opportunities for interdisciplinary research and collaboration relevant to health and human development. As a partner in The Global Health Network Pakistan, FCCU can contribute to research capacity strengthening, knowledge exchange and engagement of students and early-career researchers, while helping extend its activities and opportunities to a wider academic community in Pakistan.
